A WEST COAST GIRL THROUGH-AND-THROUGH,

With 15 years of experience in TV and digital content, Ashlee (Ash) McShan has helped brands build and evolve their content strategies. She has produced and directed award-winning work for companies like BET, MTV, and TVOne, generating over 90M views and 2M subscribers with viral shows like #FindingBET and #RateTheBars.

As the Supervising Producer at Viacom, she shaped original digital and social content while working on major network tentpoles. Ashlee’s storytelling also extends into documentaries on Meek Mill, Nas, the 1996 Olympic Dream Team, and Olympic champion Justin Gatlin.

In 2021, she took a leap of faith into full-time freelancing, sharpening her development and directing skills. During this time, Ash directed a short for Color of Change, successfully re-launched iOne’s Listen to Black Women and served as Showrunner and Director for Fatal Attraction: Last Words—the aftershow for TVOne’s hit crime series.

She’s is currently the Director of Content & Programming at SpringHill & The Shop, where she leads content strategy, oversees development, and more. In addition, she recently wrapped her third season producing and directing Mavericks, one of the brand’s flagship series featuring guests such as Kim Kardashian, Lil Wayne, Shonda Rhimes and Ryan Coogler.

Beyond development and production of original content, Ashlee has crafted branded content and executed against live events like SXSW, Lollapalooza, and Coachella. Her work spans across HBO Max, FOX, The Recording Academy, Samsung, Coca-Cola, McDonald's, Foot Locker, and more.

At her core, Ash is a storyteller and strategist with a passion for shaping culture, building brands, and pushing creative boundaries. In her free time, she enjoys taking photo walks with her 35mm film camera, traveling with her husband and binge-watching scripted period pieces.
